Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

Thank you @cluckcluckgirl ! We'll see if those help.

I'm leaving in a few minutes. Here is an update from mid-morning:

Good morning! And it is a good morning here. I am happy to report that Kyle went all night fever-free!!! I think he would have had an awesome night sleep except he still hasn't pooped so they woke him up every two hours to give him laxative. The nurse seemed confused that Kyle wouldn't go while sleeping. He was over waking up to take medicine at 2, so the 2am and 4am medicine was really hard to give. But despite all that, Kyle is in such a better mood this morning! Talking, playing, eating! He ate 1.5 pieces of bacon and some pancake this morning. We are so happy he is eating again. We already took a walk in the garden this morning and he might get to go to the play room later as long as we wears a mask.
So a much better morning, but now we just need him to stop being stubborn and poop.
I did speak with a doctor today. The short version of our talk is that they want him to be fever free for 48 hours before releasing us... So the earliest would be tomorrow afternoon. They also do need him to go to the bathroom. Another semi-frustrating thing is that they never figured out what caused the fever. The antibiotic that made him itch might have done the trick, but it could have also been coincidence that the fever was going away already when that started. Either way, they won't define why he got sick.
Well we wish you a great day and more prayers for pooping today :).

It could be that they simply can't define why he got sick. This happens with kids battling cancer....heck, it happens with adults battling cancer too! The issue is no doctor wants to look a parent in the eyes and say those little words, "We just don't know...." and no parent wants to hear that either. And it's sort of like doctors telling us that we can't 'feel' changes in the weather in our joints. They say that all the time. But ask any arthritis sufferer or joint replacement patient and you'll get a resounding "Yes it can!" Same with chemo causing fevers. My niece Jenna swears it does when Ashley is on a new round of chemo.....the oncologists admit that "in some rare case it might but it's usually not the underlying cause."

I think as long as Kyle is responding and the fevers are getting better, whether it's some medication making the difference or just his own little body adjusting, it's good news! Could well have been the Good Lord taking over in response to all the prayers for Kyle. Whatever it is, I got no problem praying next for poop! I've prayed for poop many times for Kendra too!

I arrived safely, thank you for your thoughts and prayers! I''ll be heading over to the hospital this morning to let my SIL go for breakfast and a walk. Here is my DD's update:

Hello! It is a bit late but I didn't want to leave everyone hanging (for those early risers). I am happy to report that Kyle stayed fever free all day! And he did poop once this evening!!! Both were big reliefs to us.
Although it doesn't mean instantly going home, we had no go home date until those did happen. Hopefully during morning doctor rounds we get a better feel for timeline to go home. The doc fear is sending us home too early and them missing something that would cause us to come back.
Kyle was pretty let down by the fact that he did not get to come home tonight so please pray for his spirit. He was in such a great mood most of today. We played games and joked around and had a great time. He got so sad when he realized he was staying. We need him to be positive and stay strong.
Request for prayer today is that no fever returns, Kyle poops more and that we go home. We do want answers to why he had such a high fever but we also want to go home.
Hope you have a great Thursday!

That is good news! Fingers crossed for #2 soon for the poor little guy. He must be very uncomfortable by now, but I'm so glad to hear the fever's gone and hope he can get to go home soon. He sounds like such a little trooper.

@NotAFarm we posted at the same time! Prayers continued
