Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

I tried to nap, but couldn't get to sleep. I haven't eaten chicken meat in about 8 years. That might change soon if that thing does it again tonight.

Is he cooped up on a night? I'm guessing not if he driving you batty! When I had two last year I had no choice but to coop them up untill a reasonable hour :( You can only keep neighbours happy for so long with eggs ;)
In the end they were constantly crowing against each other so they had to go :(

No chicken for 8 years, wow!! Love chicken and right now it's a staple food for me just can't have the pie crust.

My four house Silkies are all roosters. I built them a four compartment cage that has lights in the top. I shut the lights off and cover with a thick black micro fiber blanket to simulate darkness. I'll use it as a time out when they get to crowing too much in the daytime. Then to cover them up at night. They usually only start crowing in the morning when they hear the bed springs as I get up. Then they know its go time. I'll let the dogs out and make my coffee to their morning greetings. This will go on for about fifteen minutes, then they are good for awhile. We have a system and it seems to work. I never wanted roos in the first place, because they can't live outside, no chickens and especially no roosters allowed in the neighborhood. But in the house you can't hear them from outside. Their my spoiled boys and I love them. They love when I take them all outside for a bit. But when they want to come back in, they'll threaten to crow.

Good morning everyone
