Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

@NotAFarm , I don't think that Kyle being a bit "off" is unusual at all. Chemo makes strange things happen in the body, and at this age he simply can't articulate it well. You and I can say, "I don't know what's wrong - I just feel blah." and it makes sense. But to kids things are black and white - it's their tummy, or their head aches, or a boo-boo hurts. It's specific. The discomfort from chemo isn't always like that. It's sometimes vague and disturbing because it's not easy to define what it makes a child feel. And since he can't say it, nobody can "fix" it. My niece Jenna has gone through that with her little one, 7 year old Ashley, who has leukemia and was diagnosed over a year ago when she was just barely 6. And Jen says that every time they up the dose, they go though it all over again. Ash is getting better now about saying how she feels, She's now able to describe how her scalp tingles and sometimes burns, or her tummy is unsettled, or her eyes hurt (a sure sign that pressures are building up from Chemo-induced glaucoma) but she still has trouble with that vague, fatigued, flat feeling. Keep your chin and your spirits up! Obviously Kyle is coping very well and he has an awesome family!!

Oh, and I love the phrase, "Knee- mail"!!
