Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

Giving my age away here, but I remember all these things. Riding on the back of a pick-up truck too! lol Still legal to do that in S.A. No cell phones, gosh, imagine that! The first time I used one I was laying flat on my back in ER telling my dad (over the phone) that I was FINE! (Well, if you overlook the cracked skull, dislocated collarbone and numerous lacerations lol - car took me out on my bike) Passing notes around the class room instead of texting… Going to school barefoot! lol I was a bit of hooligan back then, but it was allowed and many of us did. Being VERY impressed with the school friend who's parents had a computer at home! And wondering what on earth they did with it… lol Good old days

That makes me remember when I was telling an 18-yr old that when I was little, cars did not come with seatbelts or headrests as standard safety equipment. My dad paid extra to get seatbelts in the backseat for us kids.

The 18-yr old never did believe me, lol.

Quote: I'll ask someone I know in S.A. to take some pics of my MIL's truck for you. 1972 model. No seat belts. We used to get pulled over by the Police and they'd start asking us why we're not wearing them and then see the truck doesn't have any. By law we could (and did) leave it that way.

Morning everyone! Yesterday was crazy, I couldn't get onto BYC for 5 hours. Stupid hackers… Apparently loads of sites went down yesterday. Ugh, hope this doesn't happen again. I need my BYC lifeline! lol

we were all having withdrawals

From what I have been reading this was not, as they said, "some 400 pound teenager in their mother's basement", but instead a concentrated attack to test our ability to recover and defend. This has evidently been happening for a while now and getting worse each time. So, I guess that short of an official declaration, we are involved in some sort of cyber war with someone or something. We all may just have to re-learn how to write letters and talk on an old fashioned corded telephone.
