Yesterday's quote reminded me of another one I heard years ago. I'm afraid I have no idea who said it.

"Woman was made from the rib of man.
Not from his head, to top him,
nor from his feet to be trampled on.
But from by his side to be equal to him.
From under his arm to be protected by him.
From near his heart to be loved by him."
