Not a quote, just a thought I had last night. This past weekend I went to visit a close friend of mine. We both grew up in a small suburb and I moved to the country while she moved to the city. This doesn't mean anything just setting the whole picture. So anyways, she needed to go to the store and get new makeup or something. She was asking me questions about it I didn't know the answer to for I rarely wear any myself. I'm more of a special occasion kind of person (not that I think there's anything wrong with people wearing it daily). I told her I don't really wear it (which she knew, we've known each other since pre-teens) and she goes "oh, just too lazy." Then I started coming up with excuses like it's too harsh on my skin or I don't have time. Thinking about it later it bothered me that I couldn't just say "I'm more comfortable without it." That's just who I am and always have been. My first job was on a farm...no need to look fancy there :) I know this is kind of a silly story, but what bothered me is I didn't feel comfortable enough with my best friend to just state who I am. I have no problem with our differences so I don't know why I felt the need to try to pretend I was someone else. Is there a rewind button?
