Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

I am hatching a mix, that came from a friend. The only rooster he had was a beautiful Salmon Faverlle! I don't think I've ever seen one that pretty. I did take a photo for him last night of the first one. There are 5 right now, and they all have puffy cheeks, like dad. And, some were from EE's moms. All have feathered legs so far, and 5 toes, but one has 5 on one, and 4 on the other. This photo of this baby has it's two toes in the back fused. I had a batch of silkies that hatched a lot like that once. From a great breeder too.

I had 8 go into lock down. This baby came from a blue egg. It was a robin blue, real
pretty.

Cute chick! Will the fused toes make it harder for the little thing to walk or do they compensate?

I had to get a photo of this one! Also came from a blue/green egg. I love puffy faces. 5 toes, not fused.

This one better be a girl. I've already had that talk with it.

Debbie, that chick with the fused toes walks just fine. Like I said, I've had some hatch before..and they did fine. The Slamon Favorelle has the 5 toes in case someone doesn't know that, and a huge muff. :)
