I need some hugs so I came here!
Yesterday was the beginning of the end of our first flock, I sold five birds yesterday and they were picked up. I cried, yep, I cried over chickens. I am such an animal lover, it is hard getting rid of the flock that I raised from day 2. Luckily, I was contacted by a free range egg business that is getting started and they a need layers until their babies lay. Anyway, the rest should all be able to go together and I am working on the arrangements. We will be taking six layers with us and the 15 babies from the hatch.
Oh and yesterday was the babies first full day in the run and I wanted to see what they would do at dusk. Would they know how or would they go to their small coop. I put a small solar light in the coop, I had read that on another thread. To train them, put a light in the coop so the stragglers can find their way.

Worked like a charm, by 8:15 everyone was in the coop. It was also their first night without a heat pad in their brooder. They just turned 5 weeks and almost everyone is fully feathered and developing fast.
Hope everyone has a good day!
It's tough to place animals you've raised.
