Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

I need some hugs so I came here!

Yesterday was the beginning of the end of our first flock, I sold five birds yesterday and they were picked up. I cried, yep, I cried over chickens. I am such an animal lover, it is hard getting rid of the flock that I raised from day 2. Luckily, I was contacted by a free range egg business that is getting started and they a need layers until their babies lay. Anyway, the rest should all be able to go together and I am working on the arrangements. We will be taking six layers with us and the 15 babies from the hatch.

Oh and yesterday was the babies first full day in the run and I wanted to see what they would do at dusk. Would they know how or would they go to their small coop. I put a small solar light in the coop, I had read that on another thread. To train them, put a light in the coop so the stragglers can find their way.

Worked like a charm, by 8:15 everyone was in the coop. It was also their first night without a heat pad in their brooder. They just turned 5 weeks and almost everyone is fully feathered and developing fast.

Hope everyone has a good day!

It's tough to place animals you've raised. :hugs Glad you were able to find them good homes, good luck with your move.

Since this seems like a support post if like to ask for prayers and positive Ebergy for my mama. She was having trouble breathing and went to the ER. She has a tumor in her lung that is taking up 75-80% of her right lung. She had chemo and radiation in 2008 for breast cancer and in October they removed 80% of the quad muscle in her thigh due to sarcoma. (Cancer) we will know more about prognosis on the 4th but the waiting is killing us.

Very sorry about your mother, :hugs our thoughts to her and your family.

If I could ask for everyone's prayers, that would be awesome! So my friend's best friend and his girlfriend were driving to a concert about 3 weeks ago. They slid on the wet road and got into an accident. The boy was throne from the rolling car and broke both his femurs, crushed his feet and suffered major head trauma. The girl also suffered major head injuries. They were taken to different hospitals. The girl woke up a few days ago and is able to form small words and eat. However, she can't remember much of anything. The boy, sadly, has not awakened yet. He had surgery to put his legs and feet back together which was successful. However today the families received news that he might never awaken. Pray for the families and these two kids! Also, the hospital that the boy is at, apparently is not the best. After talking with the nurses and doctors of the girl who is at a separate hospital, it sounds like this boy actually could wake up and be somewhat ok IF he is moved from the current hospital he is at and gets the proper care he needs. So please also pray that he gets transported to a better place.

Thanks!
So sorry to hear that.
