Oh ok I don't know anything about flowers! Lol.

These are my favorite petunias, right now.

Here is our little place. The home is pretty large though, 5 bedrooms, it has a basement.
Has a family area down stairs too, and an extra kitchen area..has the washer dryer in there too.

See that far right side in front of the house...just past that bush? That's my garden
area!!! I used to have a larger one in the back, much larger, but I started to let my
chickens free range. They love it, and I love having them out. :)

Yep, there is my hubby mowing the lawn. See how we are on the corner? And see that
white fence? That's where our back yard is. It's pretty large being on a corner lot.
Just planted that little tree last yr..after having one die that was there.
Anyway, Back Yard Chickens. That is what I have. And, a front yard garden..lol!

Nice place Cynthia! I guess if you wanted more garden space you'd have to till up some of that pretty yard! I got about an acre of yard/garden the other 31 acres is all woods. If I had the money and time I'd clear part of it and plant some pecan trees. Like to have some cows one day. :)

You have 31 acres + ? I always say, no fair. I did notice your trees in the back ground, and was admiring them. Like I said, when my son came home after being in GA for 2 yrs. He looked around and says, this place looks..umm...naked..lol.. Go into our mountains though, different story. Plenty of pine trees and Aspen.
So, pecan trees, in GA. I always thought of Peach trees and then the Pecans trees in Cal. Well, you could clear some land, and have your cows. Some nice big Angus? Or are you thinking milk cows. Jerseys. :) I would have horses if I could.

They do most of the peaches up north toward Macon and Atlanta. In the south its pecan, peanuts an cotton and of course corn. I'd have at least one milk cow but the rest I'd raise for beef.

Your place is beautiful! And you haven't seen barren until you've seen Canberra

The area I live in essentially looks like that, except messier and less photoshopped.

WB, I guess we're close enough that we have a lot of the same things you do plant-wise. Your garden looks so tidy!

You said the other day you hadn't tried potatoes yet. Next year give them a shot, they do really well for us and aren't that much trouble to grow. Here's a link to an excellent article about growing potatoes. It's geared toward FL but a lot of the info is applicable anywhere.

I got our sweet potato slips in the garden yesterday. This will be our first try at those. Hope they do well, we love sweet potatoes (especially baked!).
