Rabbit cage for raising quail?

I'm brand new to quail and planning to pickup our hatchlings on Sunday. I was hoping someone could confirm if this rabbit cage would work as a brooder indoors with a heat lamp. I'm planning to put sand in the bottom and scoop it out daily, sort of like a cat box. I appreciate any guidance on this new endeavor!

Do you think the sand will work for their floor? I really want to be able to do cleanup without having to waste too much bedding. When we were raising chicken babies it felt like I was always throwing out so much clean bedding with the bad.

It should if they r new babies than u might wanna cover it with newspaper for the first few days that is what I read.so they don't mistake it for their good food but how about shredded newspaper you can try that 2
