Rabbit hutch?

Hi all! I've adopted two rabbits from a rescue and they're delightful. They are living outside in a rabbit hutch that I've predator proofed, but I think it's too small for them long term. I have a really lovely chicken coop that would be great, size wise, but it isn't raised off the ground (it does have protective hardware cloth running underneath, though. Even with adding wood chips/bedding and raking it out once a week to add the manure to the compost heap, would this quickly become a problem because of their urine? Having never had rabbits before, I'm not quite sure what to expect. This particular coop is a section of my larger coop, so it can't be moved without doing some major reconstruction-- which I can do, if necessary, but would rather not!

Can you share some pictures? Rabbits do need regular cleaning because of all their waste. Most will pile it in one spot thankfully which can help with cleanup. Many litter train their rabbits.

In our one pen we use gravel as a substrate and the bunnies sure can dig. We personally keep each bunny in a cage or hutch and allow free time out to run and play. Those that are known diggers are kept out for only so much time. Mine do fine with being rotated out to play.

My Bunny is litter box trained so keeps it simple to clean her pen out. I'm using a prefab Chickens Coop till spring and will build her a way bigger pen so she can dig but not get out..We will bury a skirt of wire into the ground.

Can you build a catch pan that is removeable for easy cleaning. Otherwise the urine will likely make it unhabitable after some time. The poop is the easy part to deal with.
