Rabbit kindeling questions

I had a doe due last Fri and she 1 kit(sort of lage)dead, then Sat she had 4 on the wire all dead and of them was chewed in half,then Sun I looked in her cage and she had one half way, I was thinking it was stuck because it also was chewed in half. yesterday she had another one on the wire dead.

my question are:

has anyone ever seen anything like this?

What could cause this sort of thing?

Was this her first kindling? how did you breed her--did you breed twice within a 12 hour period, or did you put the doe in with the buck for a coupla days? My guess --without having more info provided, is that it was her first litter, and that you put the doe in with the buck for a few days. If they breed multiple times after a 12 hour period--it messes up there hormones, and can cause them to either abort, go preemie, or has issues such as what you experienced.

The fact that she ate them, is sometimes caused by the fact that --it is their first time and they are not sure what to do, and also because she feared they were endangered somehow, so instinct tells her to eat them.

was not her first litter,she had babies when I bought her(8).

I bred her then about 45 minutes to an hour bred her again.

wouldnt understand her feeling threatened, notjing unusual happened within a few day of kindeling

Check out this paper and see if it helps at all. can you tell if the mom still might have babes inside of her? Is she overweight? Underweight? My concern right now is if all kits have come out, cus if they haven't she could have some serious problems.

seems to be fine....havent found any more kits and she is back to eating am\
d drinking as she was before


weight is not an issue as she appears to be as healty as the rest of my rabbits
