She made a proper nest, with a bowl shaped area that she put her hair than she covered it up with some hay. Hard to photograph it so you are seeing what I'm seeing, but here's a few. It's the same as she made when she had her kits last year.

I will add that she built her nest last year on day 20, than made it better just before she had her kits. Also there's not as much hair yet as she put in her nest last year.

I think she's excited at the thought of being a mom again. She was very good at it.

My girl that builds a nest early even tolerated kits from the neighboring cage that crawled through a gap between the cages in the hay feeder areas. They would to come into her cage and she never pestered them. Some does just seem to into being moms more than others.

Every time I would go out, there was a different kit over there. Once three of the four of that kindle were there. They continued until they were too big to crawl through. My husband has since placed a wire patch for the gap.

The first time, I though I might have put the kit in her cage by mistake, because they were both white and I get distracted sometimes when I am out there, but when I saw two over for a visit the next time, I started examining the cages to see how they were getting through.

Rabbits seem to have a poor sense of smell, so maybe that plays into why does will take kits not their own?

Perhaps, but this one had not even had her first breeding of the season yet, so she had not had any kits for months.

Than that's definitely a good doe and mom. Is she one you use routinely. I think I read you breed meat rabbit?
