Has anyone had any success with using a rabbit waterer for baby chicks. My babies stay in the run during the day. (the big girls wont let them in the coop yet. They did let them go through to get outside to free range yesterday afternoon but thats all. Right back outside to the run they went). The way the run is is that there is chicken wire all the way around and its doubled on the bottom 2 feet which is also buried under the ground. Getting water into the run for them is hard but not not doable. Any suggestions?

Yes, yes and yes! I love it - so much cleaner as they can't poop in it. Teaching them is a snap - just take each one and dip the beak in a few times until they connect the dots. If you check my BYC page you can see pics of them drinking out of one.

Thanks. I will change over tonight to the new waterer. They lady at the feed store looked at me like I fell and bumped my head when I asked her for the rabbit waterer to use for my chickens. I know my daughter will be pleased as punch. She doesn't like getting in the run to get the waterer.
I checked your BYC page and I could read everything but I wasn't able to see the pics.

I didn't even have to "teach" my girls - "ooooo, something shiny in the coop....who can get it first?"
Pros: NO WATER MESS!! ; easy to fill; doesn't take up any floor space
Cons: doesn't hold a lot of water - but i have only 2 chickens, so not a problem. i'm thinking about the heated variety for winter so i don't have to worry about water freezing. rabbit needs one too, now that i know they exist!
