rabbit with chickens, concerns

We're getting chickens and a rabbit in a few weeks. I want to build one coop that will hold both (separate areas, but shared air). Do I need to be concerned about diseases that could be passed back or forth? If the rabbit escaped and got in with the chickens, would they hurt each other? When I build the coop, are there tips for making sure everybody survives the winter (we live in the north, freezing temps and deep snow for weeks on end)?

Our rabbits have always freeranged with our chickens, ducks, and geese, and occasionally shared a coop or pen without any problems.
