Hi,

I have two Lionhead rabbits; one is 6 weeks old, and the other is 8 weeks old (I believe). They are very friendly, lovable, and cuddly... but the younger of the two has developed a strange habit. He likes to nibble on fingers, knuckles, toes, and hands. It's kind of sweet, but he does get a little too rough sometimes.

Anyone know what this behaviour means? Is he hungry, bored, or just exploring? Can I wait it out and the behaviour will eventually stop?

it sounds normal. could you give the rabbit something to chew on. chewing is what they need to do for their teeth. they will always chew everything. i have brought in a peice of wood for the rabbit and it keeps them busy too!

Thanks!

I've supplied them with some homemade toys, chewable fruitwood branches, and a bowl of fresh lettuce. They seem much happier now.

You need to nip that nibbling in the bud. When he nibbles on you yell OUCH so he stops. Or push him away. If you don't it could lead to biting.
