*RABBITS ** Is she building a nest?I thought it was a false pregnancy?

I let my males have the run of the house sometimes and my one buck Gandolph always heads straight for her cageand marks the corners of it with his chin. I wonder if that much fur means she is in themood what a nest would look like!

I know this is an old post, but what happened? Did she have babies? This is the pile of fur I found yesterday morning.

Since the original poster on this thread hasn't been on in about 3 months, I don't know that your question will get answered anytime soon.

That's a pretty good sized pile of fur - are you thinking about a false pregnancy too?

I was until this morning. I looked in there and there is the BIGGEST baby rabbit. I am not sure if she is done, but it is very active and pretty. I checked late last night and she ate, but was acting just a little off. I thought if there is going to be a night this should be it. My husband got up this morning and said she was eating and acting normal. He said she was playing, so he did not check the nest and told me nothing was going on. I went out later and she was there. I talk to each one before feeding them and when I got to her door she was in the back and so I just put her food and got her water bowel to fill and went to the next rabbit. She came out to eat, so I went to look at the nest and saw this 1 big baby. I am not sure if she is through or not. I will put a picture of this when she is done.

Well, these are just the mystery rabbits. Not sure if they were born last night or night before, but there are 5 BABY RABBITS!! I saw the one because it was out of the fur. I went back with the camera and it was gone. I felt in the fur and found 5 babies. In the picture they are uncovered and I did that. I went in the house and talked to my family and went back to make sure there were not any dead ones because I had not felt way back in the nest. Pretty sure there are 5 and she had covered them back up again. They are fat and healthy. I changed my avatar. The one before was her sister Sunshine. The picture today is Lulu the mother. Lulu and her brothers and sisters were not born in a hutch or even a colony, they were born in the wild. Not sure of the whole story, but somewhere a few years ago somebody felt SORRY for 2 Flemish Giants and turned them loose and they had babies, who had babies, who had babies. This neighobr went and got 4 of them a year and a half ago. They were running around and winter came and next spring he gave 3 away because he did not want rabbits. One was running loose. She was digging tunnels in my yard, eating my hollyhocks and sleeping by the patio. My daughter named her Zoup. She went home off and on to see what was going on over there and he caught her. Put her in a hutch and did not know she was pregnant and she had 9 babies on the wire that died. He felt SORRY for her, so went back to this place and got 4 more baby rabbits, which are Lulu, Sunshine, Snickers and Cream who are maybe 9 months old. Not sure if Snickers or Cream is the daddy of the new 5. The man kept them over there in a hutch and then he left and his family turned them loose. They were digging tunnels and running loose. The family moved away. Lady that owned the house said I could have them. I was tossing food over the fence for months and watering them. New people moved in and had dogs. Rabbits took off through the wire and came to my garden, so we built a hutch to last a LIFETIME and caught them. They were born wild, but caught young and had attention when little, but then later none, but they love attention. They are not big. Zoup is the size of a Flemish Giant, but these 4 are small, but still growing. It will be interesting to see if the new 5 if fed correctly from the beginning will be normal size. Here is a picture today. I took them out and checked to see if they were full and all the tummies are full. She nursed them when I put them back.

ADORABLE! Neighbor does rabbits. They are so darn cute. I am so darn allergic.
