Once again, you are displaying your ignorance. . A rabbit that is being held/carried on its back has its spine supported. If you want to talk about a chance of injury, how about the rabbit digging its claws into your belly and rocketing itself out of your arms and right over your shoulder from the position you prefer? I've seen it happen, you could even get clawed in the face and neck as the rabbit goes flying by. And what do you suppose happens to the rabbit when it falls from that height? Much greater chance of getting hurt than from squirming a little
yeah i find it easier to put mine on her back otherwise i get clawed every time. and its onl to better carry her from her cage to a place to where i then just let her sit in my lap and do what she wants. she never trys to jump out of my lap.

I don't think some mind being held or cuddling. It's the act of actually being off the ground that scares them.

I didn't think 28 days ago we would have temperatures in the teens.... Looks like one of my first time Mom's just hit a homerun! Great nest, great milk production.... let's just hope that my other two pregnant does are just as savvy! Makes me nervous when they still haven't pulled fur....

Clover Gave birth to her first litter last night!

she's a tortoiseshell lionhead. this is her a couple of days after i got her. she's a year old now.

Congrats in the live litter!

But in rabbits, that color is not called tortoisehell; it's called harlequin, Are you sure she's a Lionhead? I can't see a mane in that picture.

Quote: 31 days is typical, but it can vary.. Most does kindle on day 31 or 32. A doe with a large litter may go as early as day 28 or 29; I had one kindle on day 27 and the babies survived. Does carrying only one or two may go to day 34 or 35; in those cases, the kits are usually so large and the birth process takes so long, they don't survive.
