I don't know,
My Coop
My Coop
The raccoons attacked my 3 roosters last night.
One of them is okay, with no injury's but the other 2 have: (nugget) middle toe missing (tiny stump) and a scratch on the leg and
(Darth) both back toes missing (tiny stump) and middle toe top is dangling.

What do I do???
My grandpa (who has raised chickens since he was 5) said to cut the dangling to off, and rinse the other toes with hydrogen peroxide.
What do you guys think?

That's what I'd do, too. It would really give me the creeps to cut the toe off though.... Have grandpa do it! :)

I have a 13 yr old donkey who when he was maybe a year old somehow got his ear hung on something and partially ripped the entire bottom edge open leaving a flap. I called the vet, and he came out...charged me about $75 and all he did was cut the flap off and poured betadine on it. So maybe spray betadine on it, and hopefully the other chickens don't peck at it. just keep an eye on it for infection. I'm sure I gave the donkey antibiotics afterwards too.

Just my opinion! Good luck :)

By the way, I hate raccoons. They are such nasty things...

I have given mine a baby aspirin before. It helps with swelling and pain. Use your own discretion though.
You might put neosporin on it too.
