Well, I have an odd story that just happened. The last year my attempt at chickens has been thwarted when my cat supposedly at my two chicks. Tonight, after an hour trip, I almost lost my rooster the day I bought him. I heard squaking and went running outside in the dark. I couldn't see but a form in the night but I ran to it. I didn't see the villain as it took off but thankfully the rooster was ok. After taking him inside I went back to investigate. The perp actually came back! A mangy raccoon, not my cat was the murderer this whole time. On top of that, my cat bolted from no where and tore the raccoon a new rear end. I have some apologies to make tonight.:/

At first I thought it was going to be another raccoon eat my chicken story but you were right it is an odd story and you need to keep the cat around at least near your chicken coop and raccoon's can get in very small holes so you might want to think about fixing up your fencing around the coop to protect your chickens ....



I have some poultry who like to sleep on the front porch but the
more expensive ones are locked up in very tight coops with
runs with 1/4 inch wire along the bottom .....





Mr. Bob-Cat the most feared critter around here killed many a
duck goose chicken and guinea before before more then 20
Bob-Cats gave their and then the Fox but after more then a year
of blasting em and trapping did it subside ....






It seems at times that Predators let other predators know where
to get a tasty meal as my worst night I blasted one and three more
jumped so these things do hunt in pack but after installing a
security light and filling up the trash can with fur's and getting
more guinea did such Slater end .....
