Raccoon chased my hens in middle of day!

I am dead set against trapping and releasing coons. I had a coon come in and kill all my ducks and chickens after 8:00 in the morning. Never could get that thing to go into a trap even though he sure came back and tried to kill another pen of chickens. He just killed everything and let them lay there. I figure some good samaritan trapped him and let him go around here so he was trap wise. No matter what I used for bait he wouldn't go in.
 
My brother and dad were in the car and a skunk chased the car down the road! Like trying to bite the bumper!

Either it was really rabit, stupid, blind, or maybe all three. I don't know?
 
The day after Thanksgiving people get up at 4 am to go shopping because there are great deals. Bet this raccoon thought there was a great deal. Too tempting to pass up. Sure enough though I would be trapping and shooting when you can. Clearly the coons are bunking close to possible dinner.
Rabbies is an option too, but sounds like he was working hard to get a meal, not wandering around confused and abnormal.
 
One of the big myths concerning predation is that night is the only time it happens, other than with roaming dogs. For that reason we built to confine the hens and we bring the goodies to their roofed run and coop...Oh my
