Ever see a raccoon-dog fight? Don't! It's TERRIFYING! *shudders*

One night I went out late to collect the eggs and close my chickens up. Koda greeted me happily tail wagging. Finished closing them up and after I said goodnight to my chickies I started going out the door when Koda started growling. I felt frightened about how fierce her growl was. I closed the door and locked it from the inside. Then shone my flashlight around and got a pair of eyes shining. Koda started snarling but stayed put in front of the door. Then the eyes came forward into the flashlight beam and I saw that stupid young coon I had been trying to catch. Koda spotted it at the same time and leaped at it. They got into a big fight. Gosh I can still hear her snarls and that coons snarls. *shudders* It kinda ripped Koda's neck a bit but she grabbed it by the neck and shook it hard. Then she threw it against the wire in front of the barn door. It jumped and climbed out of there as fast as it could before Koda could grab and kill it. She just missed it but started barking fiercely. I swear she was saying, "And don't come back"! I shuddered and gasped when she came running back to me in joy. She had some blood on her (I gave her a bath the next day and it must've been from the coon) but it didn't look like it came from her except for a big bite on her neck. She kept nudging me and I gave her the praise she deserved. She protected my chickens and ME!!!!!!!!!! I left a few minutes later and outside of the wire I shined my flashlight around and spotted the coon again. Boy did it look HORRID. It looked like Koda ripped it to pieces.

She saw it again and that coon limped off as fast as it could move.

I haven't seen that coon since then. I'm thinking it died from it's wounds.
