A few days ago I started my post about the recent raccoon attack on my small backyard flock; you can see all the details in the link below https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/861669/raccoon-attack-last-night
Here's my question: Since the Rooster was killed will it be a bad idea to introduce another one right away or should I look for a similar replacement bird?
What's a good breed for a small backyard city flock? I don't want a super loud crowing rooster, but the larger the bird the more sound obviously.
How long should I wait before adding more chickens in, will they benefit from more hens being added right away (stimulation to get their minds off the loss) ???
