Please suggest some of your raccoon proof latches/clips. I use padlocks but I can't continue because of personal issues and don't want to go into details on a public forum not related to that. I just need suggestions for good latches or clips. I was thinking of combo locks? Where you just have to enter a combination?

Some people use locking carabineers. I have a regular carabineer that goes through two small eye hooks. I twist it around and it takes some finagling to get it into the right position to unhook.

I've heard if it take 3 or more steps to undo, it "should" be raccoon proof.

If finger/wrist mobility are issues for you, would a keyed lock work? It doesn't have to be very strong to do the job.

Got the latch from Menard's and used a carabiner to "lock" it.

I use the same latches w carabiner on both my coops. Never had a issue.
Could you please post some more pix of your run???
I love the idea of the dust bath being off the ground, the diagonal perch in the corner and it appears there are other perches on the side.

I've been thinking of things like treadle-feeder, nipple waterers, dust bath, perhaps a tall perch - style roost, and a mirror LOL

But seeing your arrangement stimulated my basal ganglia for even MORE enrichment for them!

PS What do you have under your 2x6s on your run?

Missouri's finest rock!

I'll have to take some more photos when it stop raining.

The perches are live edge Red Oak from a 100' tall tree that blew down in a storm at my friends house (just missing the house by 20'). I cut them from the slab wood left over after milling the logs into lumber.

It's far from perfect and needs more things for them to do, I have two butt pickers in jail at the moment...
