I had two raccoons get in my chicks coop. One hurt a chick badly. I had to put her down. One got a dose of rooster claws.
I now have two chicks and one rooster. They will no longer sleep in the coop. They will go in and lay eggs.
How do i get them to sleep in the coop.

Welcome! If you have fixed your coop to be predator proof, and it's big enough and well ventilated, put them in on their roost at night and lock them in, at least for a few days. They're being smart to avoid a dangerous place! Mary

Chickens are a favorite food of raccoons. In fact it is the bait of choice when trapping raccoons in Long Island. You need to make your chicken coop raccoon-proof. I am with Nassau County Animal Control Wildlife Removal Services. I am an animal removal expert, having many years of experience with Long Island raccoon removal and Nassau County raccoon removal. I trap and remove raccoons from attics, under decks, sheds, garages and porches. Raccoon trapping is always followed by raccoon exclusion. That is you need to trap the raccoon predators and then exclude future raccoons from getting into your chicken coop.
