I took in 2 chickens (one brown and one silver) about 8 weeks ago however our existing 3 girls have just not taken to the silver girl and she has separated herself from them and sits on the house unless they are out in the garden. We obviously had the usual fights to sort the pecking order and now the brown has been fully accepted with very little issue considering my girls hadn't come across any chickens other than ginger before!

Has anyone else had issues with these colours in particular?

Thanks

Nope, never had issues such as that. Sometimes a prolonged pecking order... A little more time and things should smooth out. The only antisocial birds I have here are the guineas I have. If they don't like somebody they will put the chase on from time to time to the newbies but always give in in the long run.. Steve

It's probably not a color-issue. Some chickens are just big push-over softies that tend to get bullied and picked on more while others are stubborn, pushy buggers that always manage to hold their own and/or beat on others....then there are the ones who change their attitudes with the seasons/age.

As long as she isn't being injured, try to lure her out with the rest of the flock when they're ranging and offer everyone treats together. It can sometimes take months for new birds to find their place, so keep a close eye on her to be sure she is getting food and water and that no major injuries occur. Always watch for any signs of illness and give her a thorough parasite check, too. You never know - sometimes what appear to be "attitude/packing order" issues may be health-related.
