She won't let me open the other eye, we think she got blinded by the attack... how do I put neosporn on eye, or inside the eye? The other eye is totally black no other colorCan you get a picture of the open eye, up close and in focus? The other eye as well.
Are there other injuries to the head that are not showing up in the pictures, punctures, etc?
If she's blinded in that eye, that may be the issue. For now, I would put her in a wire crate, make sure she can find her food and water (put it in the same place all the time). Make sure she's eating and drinking, get a look at her droppings to see if they are normal. The crate will allow you to monitor all that and keep her safe, if she can't see out of one or both eyes she's at risk from other birds or predators that she can't see coming. If she loses vision in one eye she can adapt, but will always be at higher risk due to not seeing on that side. Even totally blind birds can survive if they are in an environment that is safe and that they learn where everything is, and things don't move around. There is also the possibility that there is some kind of head or neck injury from the attack that has caused neurological issues, and if that's the case then time will tell if it improves or not. If the eye is damaged I would use some terramycin eye ointment (many feed stores and tractor supply stores carry it) several times a day, or if you can't get that, some plain neosporin the same way, to prevent infection until it's healed. I have a roo that was blinded in an eye in a fight, he has his own enclosure to keep him safe from the other boys since he can't see anything coming from that side.
