I seem to have some Racoons around going after my meat birds, or they were anyway.
No one has been killed in over a week.
I am bringing home two goat kids on the 18th, a 6 month old Nigi and a 11 week old Saanen.
Do coons go after goats?!
I'm worried now.

If they are taking large meat birds, a new born kid wouldnt be any bigger, so I'd say thats a valid concern. However, at 6 mths and 11 weeks they are probably big enough, I would just watch closely when your girls actually kid down, when the babies are tiny tiny.

What you really need to worry about are the nasty diseases that coons can pass on to goats and chickens. Deadly diseases!!
They never touch our babies, but there are older goats around to run them off.

Set a live trap with a can of tuna in it. Gets 'em everytime.
