Is it ok to feed chickens radish plants and leaves

I fed them to mine about a week ago...nobody got sick or departed. They seemed to like the foliage more than the radish itself.

I was searching online for stuff to plant for free range chickens and radish was in the mix. I know they can eat them, I think they would probably prefer them as seedlings. Mine will eat the greens, but won't touch the actual radish........ but mine (radishes) are pretty spicy! Plus my chickens are spoiled, they want the sweet stuff like bananas.

My radishes were spicy too! One of the varieties I can't even handle.

I must be the heat this year. I have read that the more heat they get, the spicier they tend to be. It has been so hot, I even had a few of them bolt before forming the radish! I have to slice mine so thin I can see through the darn things or they set me on fire! We can use them instead of jalapenos! Still good with butter & salt, though. Hopefully they'll calm down in the fall planting.

Everytime I pull a radish out of my garden my birds get the greens, and they love them.
