Is it okay for chickens to stay wet? The air temp is still 74, but I was wondering if I should put them in the garage due to the storms.

Austin, TX area

Do they have access to a coop where they can shelter if they choose to do so? Most of the time mine will stay out in light rain because they choose to, but I always have the coop open so they can seek shelter if they want to.

Yeah, I need to fix the roof though, but they love my porch and stairs. They can get under the stairs and usually sleep on top of stairs. Clean up is easy.

They have a porch.

Thanks!

Texas has a healthy population of wild turkeys.

They don't have access to coops and do just fine.

Chickens aren't much different...
