oh cool............We have 23 birds as of right now, and may inherit a couple more bourbon red turkeys next weekend (as of right now there are 17 chickens, 6 turkeys, all of which are pretty young right now.)
You can get a pressure regulation valve to keep the pressure about 5 psi.
Also agrees that the horizontal nipples are far superior to the verticals for several reasons,
mostly the dripping but I water in the coop.

Is there a particular valve you would recommend? I must admit I am completely ignorant when it comes to this, but I am trying to learn!

........and meepbeep is correct, it's usually only needed when feeding from a pressurized water supply, but I have read of a couple folks using using them with large high cachements/barrels.
