Rain gutters on metal carport?

No there is no wood behind the fascia. Everything is metal. Thanks for the idea. I am going to call the rain gutter people and see what they think.

You could screw a pressure treated 1x4 to the fascia and mount the gutter to that. That should put the gutter in the right place. Is there any wood behind the fascia?

Could screw the 1x4 from other side of metal fascia into the 1x4.

Not sure you could do that. I don't think there is enough room to get a drill down in behind there. Rain gutter people aren't answering their phone today. Oh well, I have all summer to sort this out I suppose.

Here you go.

Ok, typical metal carport construction. The only thing I see right off the bat is to put a piece of wood about the same thickness as the roof truss in the "pocket" then you have something to screw to from the outside.

No I haven't. We have been doing a bathroom remodel since March and frankly it has been so stressful that I haven't had time to think about it. Of course with todays weather, it is a reminder that I need to get on this. Could use any advice you have on which company you liked. I have been warned not to use the one with the colorful name. Would you confer with that? They are the only one that I know about actually. Thanks for the tip about the 6" gutters. Much appreciated.
