The people door to the yard and pop door to the run are open but my girls are staying in the coop as they choose. It's 40 here and windy. They don't like the wind and their coop is nice and draft free. BTW I am so glad for that rain we had. Now the girls need the dirt to dry up so they can have their dust baths.

I let my birds out a little while ago & just about got stampeded! I'm glad they aren't Emu!

Hi. I'm reviving an old thread. I hope you don't mind. Is there any more worry about rain when its cold, too? I'm in Canada and so the temperature is only 35-50F or 2-10C in our spring rain. I've tarped our coop/run and the girls seem warm and dry inside, but maybe they'd like some (damp) air during the day?

None of it will bother them. They will either get under something or they will stand in it. Mine were out free ranging even when it was in the teens as long as the wind wasn't blowing. They will be fine. Damp air is no good.
