My meat birds arent so enthusiastic about the rains

The chickens are in their coop today, only one peaked out yet. My family is under blankets watcing a movie (brrrrr)...and the ducks are out running around quacking happily and making holes in the mud. They make me so happy!

I think she is satisfied with the mucky mess she helped create

Its funny how some dont like getting wet.......

And others could care less

The ducks are just now quacking and it gets the attention of everyone!

Sometimes that attention can be bad.....

Bug hunting resumed....

"Gauge" was still intent on waiting my order to retrieve.

"Day-Z May" could care not what they do...she is in a "mood" due to the rain

For me, its time to get the ice cream out!

It takes a "special" kind of person to think....Hmmm, I've got a beautiful lab, what should I get next? Hmmmm, I think I'll get some DUCKS!

My labs hunt, they just do what Ive trained them to do. They dont miss either...

We keep them seperated and the birds dont free range until we have the dogs put up, but we do let the dogs out often especially right before dark to scent the coop area up.

Ive had my boys bring me ducks that were far from dead, they have pretty soft mouths but I know the chickens would get hurt even if they just "brought" them to daddy haha. A little planning and some training should keep the peace.

Gauge is a special case...he is 110% FULL SPEED ahead!
