Raised Coop Flooring Suggestions

New to Chicken Raising ... The coop I purchased has a removable metal floor. My gals slip and slide when they go into the coop for thier nesting boxes and for bed time. I have placed wood shaving and straw on the floor but it only makes it worse. I am afraid they will slip and hurt themselves. What do you suggest I should put in the metal tray to prevent this? Thank you for your suggestions and advice.

Pictures would be helpful, but have you considered sand or pelleted bedding?????

I think you just need a thicker layer of shavings. We use the kiln dried horse bedding and that will slide on a slippery surface if its too thin but just add more so it is 3 or more inches thick.
