I'm busy treating my little rooster for this at he moment! The easiest and also a reliable way to treat it it to use vaseline! I soaked his legs in some warm water and epsom salst solution (1 teaspoon / gallon of water) and very gently scrubbed his legs clean with a old, soft toothbrush! After that I dried his feet and aplied a very thick layer of vaseline! You might ask why vaseline? Well, the thing causing the scales to raise are mites. Tiny creatures that have settled under the scales and are multiplying there! In order to live they obviously need oxygen and covering the feet with veseline suffocates them! Repeat the treatment 2 or 3 times to be sure and after 2 or 3 weeks the old scales should fall off and new ones should come in!
