I have 2 roosters, a Rhodes island red ( notoriously known breed to have aggressive rooster) and a Silkie. Both raised from chicks and brought up together. My Rhode Island Red is not aggressive towards people at all but he does not enjoy being held. That being said I leave him alone. However my Silkie rooster will let me pet and hold him. That may be because of the breed though and he also isn’t on the top of the pecking order either. I think they all have a different personality. As long as it’s not attacking you I wouldn’t force it to be held unless it’s necessary.
