Raising Baby Chick-Along

It is so nerve wracking waiting for the necropsy results. I too sent birds off, and found it was an infection they probably picked up when they hatched - killed them 4 months later. I'm glad it wasn't Mareks!!!
Can I ask what the official diagnosis was? I'm doing a bunch of research on our diagnosis, which was coelomitis - an infection in the oviduct.

It was 2 years ago, I don't remember, other than it was a yolk sack infection. Which seemed weird to me, since they were WELL beyond their yolk sack days. I will look for the report, but it's in storage, so it might take me a few days.

No worries, it's just interesting to share this kind of information. Although, it's kind of like "and here's the 789th thing chickens can die from..." :th

Hoop coop build day 2. Posts pounded in and wood painted. Starting to attach fence next. 20171019_140245.jpg

My littles put themselves to bed last night. They were out all afternoon, no issues with the big girls.
My roo goes to freezer camp this weekend and littles are moving into the big coop.
They've been getting scratch & peck in the evenings or some pigeon feed and love to scratch in the dirt. They're digging tiny little dust baths in their run too.
