We began incubating a dozen quail eggs two weeks ago after an unfortunate accident with a weed whacker line vs. momma quail sitting on a nest. We had chickens in the past. We began with 12 eggs and in two weeks we have 7 surviving quail.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. - glad you have 7 survivors
Thank you drumstick diva. All 12 eggs hatched, which is surprising, but each death is so sad, especially the first and this last one. We are a bit attached to them now. We just found one on top of a milk carton inside their enclosure (which is an Amazon Pantry shipping box). Time to buy a screen for the top!

:welcome

Sorry about the loss of some of your quail, they look like fun little birds to raise.

Make yourself at home here, thanks for joining us!
