Raising Chickens in Texas

I am so sorry for your loss.

Alright if I was an idiot go ahead and say it. I can take it. I say that because we bought our first four chickens from a guy selling them in front of our local Dollar General - I wasn't born in Texas but I swear you can't throw a stone without hitting a Dollar General store. Two typical white chickens and two brown ones. The brown ones on hindsight may have been a little poorly because he gave us a 'discount' on the brown ones. I think the one chicken that died (rather sickly brown chicken) just was already skating on thin ice to begin with. We are learning, and we are up to 9 chickens. They are so funny and unique. I am so happy with the whole thing.

Dollar stores really are everywhere in Texas. I live in the middle of nowhere and its still only 10 minutes to two different dollar stores.

Also, whats up with all these storage rental facilities? What in the world are people thinking, buying more junk than they can fit in their own house?

DG`s are a good thing! I thought storage rental units were just around here! Yeah that`s money wasted paying rental on a storage unit! Time for a garage and or a yard sale lol!

Yeah, I noticed a few storage places and a couple of bail bond places in Pleasanton.

Technically I live in Poteet. We are at the outer outer edges. I work from home, my view out of my window shows me my chickens and the neighbors cows. It is facing East, so the sunrises are so awesome it's practically spiritual.

Yep! I literally have one 2 miles away and I live 25 miles from Seguin, it is in the middle of nowhere....that scares me, cuz if they think it was a good idea to put a Dollar Genreal in the middle of nowhere! ....they're expecting the area to become populated!!! It does a 'booming' business!
