We're new to chicks, but were planning to plant a forage garden. Do you buy feed or grow your own? We're trying to figure out what grows well together in SE WY. We started pretty small (9 chicks), but are planning to grow the flock each year.

Most people purchase commercial bagged feed as it is formulated for proper growth and health. You can grow fodder for your chickens, or even ferment your own feed.
