Raising chicks is hard!

    Haha, yah im in the middle of it too, "25" Australorp chicks. Just keep fresh water, fresh food, good heat, and lots of room. Theyll be happy

    Darkening their environment, no white lights, also helps calm them, for some reason.

    No white lights is very true. Use red if you can. Seems to soothe them.

    yes definately a Red Light. If i unplug that Red Light for a second all hell breaks loose. Love that Red Light!

    We often brood out in the garage, under a red lamp, of course. But if someone leaves the overhead lights on in the garage? Within 5 minutes, they are bouncing off the walls. [​IMG]

    So that's why my chicks are so crazy .. Their mum's the heat source so they get natural daylight all day. Their 'warm up' naps last like 5 minutes lol
