Raising ducklings

Especially TSC. They just work there.
Duck Pellets for 4 weeks and up
All flock crumbles for the babies
Brooder such as a kiddie pool for babies. I use puppy pee pads for the first few weeks as they are easy to clean. Pine shavings when older.
Heat source for the babies like a brood lamp
Water bowl. Chicken waterer works for the first week. Then a small Tupperware with the corner cut out so they can dip nares.
Secure coop when they are old enough to go out.
Awesome! Thank you SO much. 5 Ducklings to start I have all that stuff. I'm starting with a large Dog Kennel/cage, in my basement then moving to the coop, which is a storage area on the side of my garage. It's perfect for birds because it has 2 entries. A little large and it needs more venting, but I'll git er dunn.

I have used a kiddie pool as a brooder, but last year switched to a long nearly clear sided box. It has a lid that I use between broods when I store all my duckling things in the box in my shed. In use, it is easier to move than a round kiddie pool, deeper and so I don't need to build a "fence" as the ducklings grow. And, it will fit in my bath when I have had occasion to temporarily move the ducklings from my Florida room. I bought a nearly clear sided rather than a solid sided box as my ducklings can see me through the sides.

I like pine shavings for litter, and i use textured vinyl shelf lining under the litter to stop the little fluffies skidding around and damaging their hips
