Yes, same with doves I rescue. Some let me hold them and the others just wanna be free. Feel free to send my a message if you need help.Thank you for all the responses… I’ll keep him as long as it takes to figure out a better solution for him… I say him, but no idea if he’s a she yet… but he deserves better… not living in a tote… transferred to an outside that’s 2x3ft. He’s lost a feather yesterday… not sure what that means at this age but it made me sad… He’s not very easy to pick up anymore either, so I don’t think he’s bonded with me too much… he definitely doesn’t like being picked up and it takes me a bit to get him to “let me”… he hides and will come close to my hand for a second if I tap but hides again… I’ll never just grab him. I wait till he comes close and stays still for more than 2 seconds then will pick him up… but he wiggles like crazy to get free… he did jump out of my hands once and landed in my yard… thank God my dog wasn’t around… he scurried a Lilly ways away from me but I was able to catch him. I think he was more in shock at the freedom … Anyway.. I just want better for him. A bigger world with other quail to live with. I’ll look around for people who have them and maybe call the humane societies for suggestions… I appreciate everyone chiming inThank you!
