That's what she said! She wasn't shy about it. She explained "everyone is in the same ballpark so Sou should be too and my customers will leave if I have to raise prices later instead of starting high." I told her I can raise 2 chickens per her 1 and its not fair a consumer has to pay so dang much for good meat. She said she can't free range. She feeds dry and for minimal profit sells at $5/lb. I told her I feed FF and range dawn til dusk, but the FF cuts wasted food down and she should try it. She hung up on me lol so whatever. We just want to raise enough to have fresh healthy meat available and it pay for the next batch
Not looking to charge stupid money to people so they can eat real homegrown chickens. When I was growing up we went to farmers markets for quality cheap food raised by locals and often bartered goods. NOW natural local food is crazy in prices and no one wants to trade. Lol

She wanted you to raise your prices because she is going to lose business if you keep your prices below hers. Everyone will buy your broilers instead of hers and she will lose out on the deal.
