Has any one used the "Broiler Booster" that McMurrary puts out? I gave it to my Cornish/Cornish X chicks 2 days later they are acting like all they want to do is lay down and have gained big bellies. I'm wondering if they just do this or did the "booster" have something to do with it. Thanks.

UH oh. I have never heard of that. What is it supposed to do?

Hi Kuntry girl and Angelicisi it's supposed to be vitamin A, D3, E, B12, Niacin, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Riboflavin, vitamin K, folic acid, Thiamine HCl, ascorbic acid, Biotin, Sodium Cl, K. It's basically electrolytes, vitamins, and Lactobacillus for the gut (like probiotics/electorlytes at TSC) I'm using the "quick chick" for my egg layers, but this broiler booster turned my meaties into fat nuggets in 2 days! It's unbelievable if that's what increased their size so much but maybe they do this? Hatch date was the 15th so they are now 9 days old and went from a size 5 to a size 22 so fast! My cat Katie cant help but hope one of the fat nuggets will be her dinner she thinks they are lip licking good, lol!I haven't been able to find anyone in the Shreveport Bossier area who has chickens or I would definitely ask. Yesterday the brooder temp was 90 and they were panting so I turned the light down and brought temp all the way down to 83 over about 4 hours, and still a few of them panted occasionally. I was afraid to put it to far down because some of them were up on the light/heat about 10 of 20 then the rest were towards the middle, and back away from the light. Do these guys pant when stressed? I'm changing out bedding every night and doing spot cleaning around the biggest poop areas, ie feeder/waterer/sleep area, humidity is about 43 to 47%, indoor temp was 62 degrees. Ideas/suggestions?![]()
