Raising our New Zealand Meat Rabbits *Start to finish - Birth to processing* Possible Graphic pics*

We have 6-7 NZWs to process.

A community member made us a wringer that we will be trying out. Hopefully all goes well and its effective. I'll video it and link it with graphic warning. We will keep it proper and as educational as possible.

Any tips are appreciated too before morning! :gig
Whew I'm nervous. Always am before any butcher tho. :)

I will watch the video. Am planning on starting to raise our own meat when the weather cools down here. I have processed chickens before but not rabbits. Have learned a great deal from your posts already. Thanks for the offer.

:th we didn't process yet :lau

Heavy rains, then work delayed us. But I'm on vacation after today so o have some time to work at home :gig

It's so funny, I have a litter right now that's about 6 weeks old and I can hardly wait for the litter due next weekend! I don't think I'm ever going to get tired of having rabbits!

Ok. So someone needed 3 dressed rabbits. Hubby did 2 and I did 1.
Didn't video it :th was a surprise order for a special customer and we had the kids and lotsa stuff going on so it ended up being a tag team effort.

Three, 12 week old bucks. Fully dressed 9.5lbs meat. Each weighed at least 3lbs. We started at 4:20pm (received order) and were finished and cleaned up by 5:15pm. Love rabbits compared to chickens for processing. So simple.
