Does anyone know where I can buy reasonably cheap pheasants near me

Where are you located, and what breeds are you looking for. Keep in mind that 'cheap' birds are frequently not the best birds.

I am located in Mercer PA I am looking for Chinese ring neck Pheasants for training my German shorthaired pointer

First need to check PA laws on whether gamebird permit is required. This time of year, you will have to look for young/adult birds which probably won’t be cheap as breeding season has ended and many breeders are out of stock for the season.

Check good ole craigslist there's usually some on there.i thought every state required permits for ringnecks,as the government seems to think they are a native species.

I agree Tony, especially if ringnecked's are considered a regulated hunting species in the state. Some states don't have any wild, regulated populations of ringnecked pheasants, so you'll need to check with the state Department of Wildlife or DNR, as each state has different regulations and permits.

Curiosity got the best of me....so did some research...I'd say you need a permit! Need to read all of this, the permit regulation is buried deep within the article.

yes....pa is a big ringneck hunting state

If you are just keeping them in your backyard you do not need any permits
