After they hatch how long are they kept in water?

It depends on the temperature. Once they’re close to being done with metamorphosis, I need to transfer them to a bigger tank, and then I need to wait for them to all come out of the water, then I will release them. According to my research, it should be 30 to 45 days.

So they leave the water on their own, when they're ready? they will be in a shallow tank or something so they can get out when they want.. the warmer their surroundings the sooner they embark onto dry land? interesting!! Thank you for sharing this!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have tadpoles! Tomorrow, I’m going to get some aquatic vegetation and algae for them to eat.

Update:

They all hatched last night. I’m going out to get some food for them. I think if I pick up aquatic plant matter from where I found the eggs, they’ll be able to eat the algae and stuff off of it.

We will see what happens.

Update:

They’re doing well so far. They’re eating the algae off the plant matter that I got from their natural habitat.

It’s me that has the problem, I may have developed a kidney stone.
