Someone said get them in July or August. That’s our plan. Also could I clip there wings like I do my chickens? Thanks

I'd imagine you could clip their wings. I would get them four or five months before you want to butcher them

BB are butchered 16 to 20 wks
Unless you want a 50 lb bird to figure out how to get in the oven

You're right. I was thinking of meat birds for 4H. We have to have them before May and the show is the beginning of August. We just have to be very careful feeding them.

Yes you can clip one wing
My BBB would fly at first, by when they should have been slaughtered they could barely get 3 ft up

Can always butcher into parts and freeze raw in portions.....I loved doing that!

That's what I do also
Even the 6 month, 12 lb heritage
Because I use about 6 lb of poultry a week

We are looking in to raising a Turkey or two for Thanksgiving as well. Can you raise just one Turkey? We will have Chickens also. This will be our first Turkey and aren't sure what to expect, or what type. I'm assuming the broad breasted?
